i was busy with cards this weekend! this first one is for the sketch over on Jen's blog:

how cute is she???? the panels are done usig the bandana technique from the technique junkies newsletter. the white dots are the ranger inksentials pen which i finally got in stock not long ago. die cut is covered in ruby slippers and tiara glitz stickles.

next up - the sketch challenge over on SCS last week:

i got the scarecrow from peachy keen stamps. b oth images are colored with copics.

fianlly a card i did for the current challenge over at paper patch crafts:

the owl is from one of the inkadinkado sets i recently added to my website called birds galore. he is stamped with brilliance chocolate pearlescent ink - also available on my website. primas have sands of time bead pops.

and now i am off to bed as i have had a long day and expect another one tomorrow!! i will have some cute LOs to share tomorrow.

So this is a pretty loose following of the sketch but i find i am occasionally a little limited....the technique junkies technique i used is artsy dimension. i really liked it alot more than i thought i would. In fact i promptly ordered more of Ranger's dimensional pearls and will be adding those to my inventory as well so look for them on my website soon! the Skittles used here are my most favorite - SUGARpops in Galactic Grape - they look good enough to eat!!

i really love this one. i may have to use this theme on more things! the technique used is a variation of the aged metal technique using alcohol ink and tin foil then embossing thru the cuttlebug (oh boy do i LOVE my cuttlebug!! Look for an exciting new announcement about that coming soon!) for the strip under the pic i used a bow and some skittles instead -these skittles have a sort of aged gold/green patina distressed look to them and just fit PERFECTLY with the background. i brayered the coaster with matching distress ink before attaching everything.

Technostamper sketch - coaster album

ok i LOVE to play the sketch challenges but i have WAY too many cards and WAY to few scrapbook pages SO i have been saying i am going to try something new and here it is. Instead of making a card i am making pages for a coaster album/mini brag book for my mom for mother's day. i don't know if they "count" but there you have it!!

so my first one is the album cover and it uses MJ's sketch over at Technostamper:

I am using 4" coasters, medium weight - available over at Pezadoodles.


First I used the cuttlebug smoosh technique from technique junkies with the fantasy floral embossing folder and Soothing Sunset big & juicy rainbow pad from Ranger Ink.

i used grungeboard letters from the new minis kit (yes it is in stock!) and inked them real well. baubles for the dots on the Is. i stamped the word heart with the alphas in the new studio g series 11 set (still searching for more) using versamark and then brushed on perfect pearls powder. i also highlighted a few of the embossed hearts with a versamark pen and pearled those too. my FAVE item is the grungeboard hearts. they are harlequin patterned and i sprayed them down really well with pearl mist made from red perfect pearls, pearl perfect pearls, fired brick reinker and water in a mini mister. this gives the grungeboard color, SUPER shimmer AND doesn't hide the pattern at all!! and so super easy! you will be seeing more of that as i have lots of new grungeboard in!! all of these items (except the cuttlebug folder and sold out series 11) can be found over at Pezadoodles so come on over!!

Tha Cat's Pajamas and spotlighting

my first card today is for a new weekly challenge that just started up by the girls over at The Cat's Pajamas - CUTE stamps that i SO need to start adding to my collection....because a girl can never have too many stamps right?!?!? (ok not according to DH but what does he know!) anyway details of the challenge can be found over on Jen's blog. I used an SU stamp since i have no cat's pajamas stamps (yet) and TOTALLY copied a card over on MJ's blog Technostamper.

This stamp is from a hostess set. I put the mask over the stamped image and then sprayed liberally with pearl mist made from sunflower sparkle perfect pearls powder and yoyo yellow reinker - perfect pearls are available in my store and SO versatile. the camera doesn't capture the shimmer but it is incredible! the background is done using the direct mesh technique from the apr 2008 technique junkies newsletter and is done with soothing sunset big & juicy rainbow ink pad - also available in my store. the colors on the big & juicy pads are incredibly vibrant and i love working with them.

the next two cards use two of the stamps from the set. i placed the masks on them, brayered over them with Breeze ink (CTMH) and then sprayed liberally with pearl mist made from just pearl perfect pearls powder - adds TONS of shimmer to anything you spray it on! the images on all three are colored using an aquapainter and just dipping it into the perfect pearls powder and painting it on.

Here's another card for the craft show stack but for this one I also used the monday lunchtime sketch over on technostamper.



i had the images all stamped, colored and ready to do something with and when I saw the sketch I just knew they would be perfect for it. In fact I had several of these laying on my table and several recent sketches all have long skinny pieces so you will be seeing more of these cute little guys!



The little stamps are from a CTMH set called Flower Child that I just LOVE. The background stamp is fern leaf tooled leather from Starving Artist Stamps and is done using the Opalite Infusion tachnique from the Feb 2008 Technique Junkies newsletter. The small stamps are colored using prisma pencils and mineral spirits. Having been a colored pencils artist for many years before scrapping this is one of my favorite techniques.

I have several completed items to share. I did not do these all in one weekend they have just been in various stages of completion. i don't know why but i seem to do lots of things at once instead of one thing at a time.
the first card features crackle paint which i love in fired brick.



the next two cards feature technique junkies techniques

the first has a pounced background using iridescent glass paints. the stamp is embossed with Ranger's gold detail embossing powder.



Next card is opalite infusion - hte shimmer doesn't show as well in the photo. the cut out dragonfly also has this technique used on it. I am not as happy with this card but wasn't sure where to go with it :P

Technique Junkies - too delish!!!

Ah i am LOVING my Technique Junkies issues. Need to get more back issues :P here are a few cards i made using the ideas in the newsletter:


This background is called Cuttlebug Smoosh and I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Dried Marigold, Antique Linen, and Milled Lavendar. I stamped the main image in Antique Linen and then used Distress Embossing powder in Antique Linen, Milled Lavendar, Shabby Shutters and Dried Marigold. Inked the edges and used my foam blending tool to add some of the same ink colors to enhance the satmp - sentiment is Studio G of course!



Next background is Reinker Splash altho i did not use the glossy paper and think it would come out a bit differently so i will try that next time. Again used the distress inks - Peeled piant and Antique Linen. Stamp is also distress embossing powders - antique linen, dusty concord, worn lipstick and peeled paint. sentiment is studio g again but the FIRST one i used - i stamped it and then realized it is mis-spelled!!! yup! litte instead of little ah well they are only a buck!! (used my new eyelets and crop a dile - can you tell i need some practice with that thing???ugh! good thing this card is for my mom!)



this last background is spanish gold using acrylic paint. stamped image is colored using gamsol and prisma pencils. now to get the colors right for "spanish silver".....

i have gotten lots of new supplies in so stay tuned for more new things :)

i am going to try and start using some of this stuff on scrapbook LO as I have enough cards - found a GREAT site - check out the blinkie on the right - Got Sketch. AND BTW - if anyone knows how to make these little things that link to a website PLEASE help me as i want one or want to make myself one.....
