**TUTORIAL** playing with alcohol ink...

hi all!!

i have another cute little valentine's card to share - i can't for the life of me find where i got the sketch so forgive me - it is apparently not the most current one as i made the rounds of my fave sketch challenge blogs and didn't see it......

today's card uses valentine pezzy from Polkadot Pie, the sweetie pie pezzy's picks kit and a really cool alcohol ink technique background piece i picked up from tim's 12 tags of christmas (quick tutorial below):

The patterned & black papers and the three buttons are from the bo bunny sweetie pie mini kit i have in stock. the center piece is an alcohol ink background that i ran through my cuttlebug embossing folder. these backgrounds are quick and easy and really add a nice touch!

Here is a close up of the image - i colored her with copics and then accented her shoes and the hearts with my red glaze pen. the alcohol ink background has shades of reds with some copper shimmer running through it.

want to make your own quick background? in appreciation of the new alcohol ink colors coming out here is a simple tutorial for you:

Gather your supplies: 1 alcohol ink mixative, 2-3 coordinating alcohol ink colors, craft mat, glossy cardstock (cut down - smaller pieces are easier to work with), blending solution.

Step 1 -drip some drops of metallic mixative randomly on the craft sheet.

drip random drips of the colored alcohol inks among the mixative drips.

drip blending solution randomly over the alcohol ink - the more you use the lighter your colors will be.

Lay your glossy cardstock piece face down on the drips, move it around a bit to blend and cover - making it sort of pin gives a nice effect. Grab a side or corner and lift the cardstock up slowly. you can usually cover a couple pieces of cardstock with the puddle you make.

now how is that for quick and easy??? oh i cannot wait for the new colors! i hope we will not have to wait long!

In preparation for CHA i will be announcing the details of a BIG giveaway later this week so stay tuned!!!!!

Sweetie Pie Kit is finally IN STOCK!!! How CUTE........

I have been anxiously awaiting the goodies i ordered for one of Pezzy's Picks - new mini kits hand picked to coordinate with the new Polkadot Pie stamp line:

These goodies are from the brand spankin' new Sweetie Pie collection by Bo Bunny. The kit includes above 4 double sided 6 x 6 papers (4 sheets of each - pics show both sides), matching 6x 6 double dot cardstock in 3 colors (6 sheets each), plus an assortment of matching brads, buttons and flowers (total will be less than what is shown - pic is for reference) AND 3' each of 4 different double dot coordinating ribbons (2 are 5/8" and 2 are 3/8")

of course i just had to break it out and play - even if it was just a tiny bit! i started with taylor's cute sketch ->

and here is the yummy card:

i colored the chocolates from the two chocolate treats polkadot pie sets with copics and accented them with star dust stickles. then attached the polka dot ribbon - quick but cute :)

i am working on a brand new look for the website with a TON more functionality. it MIGHT be up by Wednesday - YAY!!!

wanna see another one??? she is oh so cute - my little Pezzy...

i have another one to show you today! introducing a slightly more grown up little pezzy all ready for Valentine's day!

For my card today i used MJ's monday lunchtime sketch challenge ->

Perfect for little miss pezadoodle!

and a few close ups:

i colored her with copics and then took my versamark pen and highlighted the design on her shirt & the hearts on her pants and brushed over them with forever red perfect pearls for some shimmer. then i used it to highlight the rim of each red heart on the banner and brushed those with blush perfect pearls. the next picture has the card tilted so you can see the shimmer.

the border comes with this set along with a few other matching individual hearts. i stamped it in memento rose bud and then highlighted it and the patterned BG paper with frosted lace stickles. OF COURSE i added another of my custome clay embellies!

along with the stamp sets i will have two kits of goodies - Pezzie's Picks - available for you so you can have a little bit of everything for your projects without spending a fortune and ending up with WAY more than you need. One kit will feature 5 papers from the gorgeous Basic Grey Bittersweet collection that i have been using plus the matching bazzill cardstock and an assortment of coordinating buttons, brads and ribbons - a quick and complete one-stop shop for a little valentine creating!

stay tuned tomorrow for another cute project and a demo of the interactive abilities of the new polka dot pie line! you will not want to miss it!!!
hugs & stampin fun!
