perfect pearls tutorial - painting!!

Today is another tutorial using the oh-so-versatile perfect pearls powder!

The card for today is done using Mary Jo's weekly sketch - i LOVE to use her sketches! I had lots of fun with this one and got to use another new MFT set i hadn't touched yet! so here it is:

again it is so difficult to capture the shimmer just right with the camera but I painted the shirt and coffee mugs with perfect pearls and an aqua painter - does it get any simpler??

So gather your supplies: the colors of perfect pearls you will be using, your stamped image (use a waterproof ink), an aquapainter and a scrap of paper towel for blotting your brush.

Blot your brush on the paper towel so it is almost dry. dip it into the perfect pearls and get a little scoop of powder - depending on the size of what you are coloring you can vary the amount you scoop up each time.

These next two pics are blurry but i put them up anyway - i apologize!! so touch the tip of your "powdered" brush to your paper and the water and powder will instantly start mixing and form a paint. the amount of water you use will determine if it is thick and opaque or thinner and transparent. These are small areas so i had to dab my brush onto my paper towel fairly often to keep the paint thick.

I can't say if this and the other techniques will work with pearl ex as it does not have a built in binder like perfect pearls and i have never used them. i prefer perfect pearls with the binder so it is one less thing to mess with :) i hop ya'll have fun playing - i'd love it if you post links to your projects in the comments for me to see!

Be sure to tune in tomorrow for Thinking Outside The Block Fridays!! Now that i have shipped most of you some more blocks you probably didn't need!!!!
