SFYTT

hi all!!

and i have continued to play with my pink cats - i got so many of them ya'll might be seeing these for awhile!!! they are all just so ADORABLE!!

i used Jen's Sketch For You To Try from Saturday (yes i am just a wee bit backed up these days):

and the card:
All SU papers of course. stamped the image in ranger pitch black ink and then colored it with Rangers dimensional pearls - i am loving these!! i just brushed them on with a dry paintbrush and what's so nice is they give great color, tons of shimmer, and at the same time are transclusent enough for the black lines to show thru! i used lettuce and cranberry and added dots at the edge with the lettuce straight from the bottle. bees and hive are cut from the cricut walk in my garden cart and the bees are accented with my sukura stardust gel pens - black and clear. all three are popped up on dimensionals. and the fiber across the top - a bit from a SUPER surprise pack from a sweet and oh so talented lady over on the Paper Patch board **waves hi to lauren**-how fun is it??? i so needed a pick me up during a rough day yesterday and i gotta say digging in those crazy fibers SURE helped!!!

the other wonderful pick me up i got yesterday was a visit from Amy over at Pickled Paper. Amy is INCREDIBLY talented - her cards can make my jaw drop. we *know* each other from stamphappy blogland but actually live in the same little town. she came by to get some distress embossing powders for a giveaway she did and of course i threw in some other goodies for her to play with in return for something she's helping me out with - you'll see more on that later!! she's a super busy lady and i am THRILLED she is taking the time to help me out. i will be seeing her again this saturday for a Ranger/stamping party i am throwing.

and of course i got some really super sweet emails and messages to help me thru a rough day and i love you all for that as well!

now last BUT NOT LEAST - has everyone dug up their studio g acrylic blocks for my little game??? remember the prize is a big one so get to work!! if you are toying around with some ideas drop me a comment and let me know!! i have several things done but have not shown them as i don't want to influence anyone's creative juices BUT if you guys want to see let me know and i will post them!

and now i'm off for yet another whirlwind of a day!! happy stampin!

Contest and FAB prize!!!!! studio g fanatics listen up!!

ok peeps - sit back and read carefully - have i got a contest for you! for all of you readers that are studio g fanatics (which i am guessing is pretty much everyone that comes here every day and i LOVE you ALL!)

only 10 days to go until my new product launch - SO to kick off the countdown i have a contest for you.

as we are all painfully aware hampton art just KEEPS sending those blasted little acrylic blocks with each series. after collecting FOUR boxes myself (and paying for them) i finally started making ya'll take them when you order. well here is what we're going to do - i am challenging all of you to come up with ways to alter/use those blocks. that's right - what can we do with them besides use them to hold our stamps????

now acrylic is all the rage and there ARE lots of ways to decorate it. so after spending (TOO MUCH) time in the pezadoodle studio here are some tips for you:

  1. alcohol inks are FABULOUS for coloring - added glitz - ink up your felt pad, dip a dry brush into some perfect pearls and tap the powder over the ink and then ink up your piece - LOVE IT!!!
  2. inks that work - staz on of course, also brilliance (i have the pearlescent dew drops) looks SO GOOD, ranger pigment inks (probably others too but i don't have any). the brilliance and pigment iks ned to be dried with a heat gun.
  3. stickles works wonderfully
  4. glues to use - glossy accents or zip dry for embellishments, e6000 for glueing blocks together
  5. what else can you come up with?????????????????

and what is the fab prize you ask - well hold on to your bonnets....

  • 2 ranger pigment ink pads
  • 2 perfect pearls
  • 2 alcohol inks
  • 2 crackle paints
  • 2 distress powders
  • ranger ink tool - your choice of felt or foam

the above will be your choice of colors - now how is THAT for a prize worth workin your butt off for!!!!!

this contest will run until launch day - i will announce the winner on JUNE 7 when the new products are revealed. so come on - use those blocks!!!!!

and for any non-studio g addicts with no blocks who would love to play - the blocks are $1 each and can be purchased on the studio G page.

by entering the contest you are giving me permission to use your creations in a slide show here as well as a gallery on my website to show off all your neat ideas. Post a link to your entry here OR email it to me.

stay tuned for more blog candy leading up to launch day!!!

stamp, inky, acrylic blocks coming outta my ears HUGS!!

SERIOUSLY adorable and a tip for studio G stamps

ok i want EVERYONE to go to this blog and leave a comment for the blog candy - too adorable!!! I love the work her mom does and just saw this link to her very own blog!

i also wanted to post a tip for the studio G stamps and all clear stamps - i have been meaning to do this for 2 weeks!!! i love the studio Gs and clear stamps in general but have always had trouble getting a full crisp image as the ink sometimes repels or beads up on the clear material the stamps is made of. SO i have found the answer and wanted to be sure and pass it on as it has made me fall in love with clear stamps even more. it is actually three tips:
1. don't press hard - they are so much softer than the red rubber we are all used to.
2. place a thin piece of foam under your paper when stamping - you know the little foam sleeves you can get to pack your dishes? that is perfect.
3. MOST IMPORTANT - take a piece of fine grade sandpaper and lightly sand the stamp - once i started doing this i have been able to use all of my stamps - no matter what company - with ALL of my different inks and it works every single time. EVEN for the el cheapo and oh so adorable studio Gs we all love so much!!! seriously gals - try it!!!

and don't forget to run over to Lillian's blog and leave a comment for her blog candy!!!!

a winner AND a yummy card to share!

and the winner is.........Chris! i hope you love the adorable little dish whether you keep it or use it as a gift! shoot me an email so i can get your addy!

and now for the card - ANOTHER pink cat!! this is for a sketch challenge over at Paper Patch Crafts. Go check out all the new stuff Ann has gotten in - i especially have my eye on the new design street papers.

i stamped the kitty in currant adirondack ink and i like the look - a nice change from straight black all the time. i colored her in using my aquapainter and adirondack inks in purple twilight, shell pink and clover. i just love the brightness of these colors! the three little roses are also from a pink cat studio set - they are covered in cotton candy stickles and so is the pink rose on her hat. then i hand drew some doodles and traced those in cotton candy too. and now to explain the bottom portion of the background. here are a couple close ups:

the pics definitely don't do it justice. i got this technique out of julia andrus's most recent book - paper transformed - i highly recomend it! i started with white cardstock, colored it with the adirondack inks and my ink blending foam. covered it in several layers of UTEE. put on some perfect medium and then several colors of perfect pearls. more UTEE on top and then as it melted it sunk down thru the pearls in droplets and created an interesting mottled effect.

now off to work! keep watching as there will be more giveaways as we near the product release date PLUS i am working on a contest with a BIG prize coming in a couple weeks - this one is just for you studio g girls!!

MOJO Sketch and website/studio G 12 update

I can't believe it's the end of the day and I am just now getting a chance to post! we have been very busy over here in The Studio!!

first i have asketch card to share - the sketch is from Julee:

i really love this one - the possibilities are endless and it goes together so quick and easy but has lots of impact. Here is my card done with a stamp i got for my bday (*waving* to SillySkittles) and berry bliss SU designer paper:

i used antique linen distress ink, stamped off once on scratch paper, for the background stamps and then vintage photo distress ink for the main image. sprinkled it with tattered rose, peeled paint and vintage photo distress embossing powders. the primas are my fave set yet and of course sands of time mixed pops - which i also adore - really into brown right now i guess.......

now onto business - as i mentioned we have been very busy - Miss Pezadoodle herself helping with my huge ranger shipment that arrived today:

no she has no clothes on as we had just come in from outside and she had been sitting IN her water table. and don't worry folks that's all my stuff she's actually playing with - yours is put away already!! i have added lots of new items to the store as well as trying to keep up with re-stocking of our most popular goodies like alcohol inks, crackle paints and perfect pearls. we now have stickles, and all of the adirondack dye inks as well as the BRAND NEW pigment ink pads. i have read nothing but rave reviews and can't wait to play with them myself! Also adding paint dabbers slowly but surely!!

and finally, those elusive little studio g series 12 stamps. they went as quickly as they came! a few of you will be receiving emails that you will have a short wait while i scramble to re-stock. i expect to know with certainty next week how many more i can get and the shipping will likely take a couple of weeks as they are very slow!!

and don't forget to check out the new look over at the webstore and comment on yesterday's post for a chance to win the cute little dish my mom painted!

SFYTT and Pink Cat time!!

time for Jen's Sketch For You To Try - if i don't get time to play any others i always try to make this one! this week's sketch gives LOTS of options - i can see using this quite a bit. i used it to make a card for this week's pink cat challenge - use one of the stamps you have not used yet - well that was EASY since i just ordered a bunch and they arrived yesterday!!

and so here's the card:

the patterned paper is SU Le Jardin - i just love the colors! these are also the colors for the pink cat challenge over on lauren's blog. background bamboo is pink cat and stamped in scattered straw distress ink. cat stamp is also pink cat and stamped in ranger adirondack espresso ink then colored with prismas and gamsol. i am lovin my new adirondack inks!! i added some sparkle to her collar and the circles on her pillow with my sakura stardust pens but i could not get it to show up in the pics. of course i used some more of my oscar gold swirlypops from sugar & scraps!

i have been SUPER BUSY with some new things coming VERY soon. be sure to tune in tomorrow for the first of several announcements and a chance to win some blog candy!!!

quick & easy LO

YAY got a scrapbook page done!! i did this one for a challenge on one of my yhoo groups - we were to stamp on pictures - never even occurred to me to ever do that but i like it. i used white staz-on but wish my adirondack pigment pads had come because i think the coverage would have been better.

i used a sketch from the got sketch blog:

i also FINALLY used one of my stitches stamps that i just HAD to have a year ago and never used. colors are purely pomegranate and basic black and the cut outs were done with my brand-spankin new homer decor cricut cart. i am LOVING this one!!!

and now off to "work" - oh do i have some things in store for you!!!!! keeeeeeppp waaaatching......

ahhhhhh MIA and technostamper pink cat sketch!

SO not keeping up with posts and challenges lately - seems Pezzy just can't resist the gorgeous spring weather and the new sand & water table we got! i did manage to get a card done for MJ's Technostamper sketch. have i mentioned how much i am IN LOVE with the stamps over at pink cat studios????? i want them ALL!! here is MJ's

and my card:

The vase stamp is from pink cat studios and the background is ranger dimensional pearls and i just love how it turned out. i colored the stamp with markers, stamped it and then colored it in with my aquapainter and adirondack ink pads. i am JUST starting to use these and really like them so far. for the background i squirted a piece of paper randomly with dimensional pearls, laid another piece on top, smoothed and smooshed it with my brayer and then grabbed the corners and peeled apart diagonally. will be doing more of this one!! the dimensional pearls are now available on my website! here is a close up:
and now some pics to show you why i have been MIA. First is Pezzy getting into my inventory which was stored in boxes under my table. yes those are the pens i send out to everyone. so this started a big re-organization project and a trip to home depot. now everything is put away on shelves in the storage room.

next is the planting i have been working on around the deck. the worst part is digging up the grass - UGH!!! the planting i love! my goal is to have all of the grass gone under the deck and stairs :)

Blog candy winner and SFYTT box...

SO glad to hear ya'll love the bead pops as much as i do! now for the winner of the Big & Juicy ink pad...."swimmom" - YAY!!

on to my project post for today. i always LOVE Jen's sketches over on iheart2stamp. i decided to use this weeks on the top of a box i have been playing with. here is the sketch:

And the box:
Lid

Side

Side

So I was going for the mother of pearl look here. the pics definitely do not do this box justice. i started by covering the box with pearl paint from one of my latest additions to the store - Ranger paint dabbers - LOVE these things!! i let the paint stay "bumpy." then i put a very small amount of alcohol inks on - i used mushroom, currant and eggplant and lots of blending solution so the color would be very subtle. for the lid (and Jen's sketch) i broke out my brand-spankin new pink cat stamps. i just discovered these and they are my new all-time favorites - i could have bought them ALL!! i stamped with Adirondack Espresso and colored in using my aquapainter and adirondack inks in cool peri, pink sherbet and willow - all from the Lights collection then i sponged on versamark and covered the whole stamped piece with Rangers frosted antiquities crystal embossing powder. added sheer purple ribbon, a couple primas and, of course, tiny little grungeboard hinges done up in gold. i covered the grungeboard in versamark, added Ranger pale gold pearl embossing powder, melted and then while still slightly warm i brushed on the perfect gold perfect pearls powder. i will be adding gold stickles to the holes in the hinges but when i went to do that i realized....GASP....i don't HAVE any gold stickles!!!!! how can that be??? not to worry - i just placed another order with ranger and will be adding stickles to my webstore!!! YAY!!!!

now i am off to get some work done - LOTS of cool new things are brewin' over here in the Pez-A-Doodle Studio!!!!!

a big honor!! and Technostamper Monday lunch sketch

Do you LOVE your cuttlebug??? i KNOW i do and so when i heard i could put in a "request" - not so much a pre-order - for the folders coming out at the end of the summer of course i jumped on it - Haylie-Jo over at Crop Stop is FABULOUS!! She is your one stop shop for all your QuicKutz, Boss Kut, Sizzix and Cuttlebug dies, embossing folders and storage sleeves AND she ships FREE to the US and Canada!!!!!!!!! Well she contacted me and would like to use my creations as examples of the versatility of the cuttlebug folders! What an honor!! i am looking forward to working with Crop Stop and creating fab new things for them! and now i NEED to buy more cuttlebug goodies - HA HA HA!!

next up is last Monday's Technostamper sketch from Mary Jo- yes i know - i am a wee bit late!! so here is the sketch:

and the card - a birthday card for my sweet (and a bit neglected) hubby:

how ADORABLE is that stamp?!?!??!?! got it from stamping bella - hubby has this huge obnoxious jeep he goes rock crawling in - well pezzy LOVES to play in it in the garage while daddy is working on it. so when i saw this one i knew i HAD to have it! the trees are a stampscape stamp and i stamped it on the back of a transparency and then alcohol inked the front in attempting a camo look. Stamp is colored using prismas and gamsol and then i used clear skittles for the headlights.

now back to work for me!

wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day!!!

Ranger Paint Dabbers

I am beginning to add the Ranger paint dabbers to the inventory in the store and played with them for the first time. i saw this tutorial and could not pass it up. (this whole blog is amazing).

the first card was done for sketch challenge #5 over on the board at Paper Patch. we were given this sketch from pencillines.com but were challenged to turn it into a mother's day card.

and here is mine:

I used gold paint dabber but laid it on smooth. then alcohol ink over that. then the texture on the corner and strips was added by dabbing the paint dabbers and then drying with a heat tool. went over it again with alcohol inks. and of COURSE the dots down one side SCREAMED for some pops from Sugar and Scraps and I just so happened to get some brand-spankin new ones in that matched PERFECTLY! Sands of time - shades of gold, bronze and deep burgandy and all shimmery. Below is a close up of the pops and the texture.

next card is based on the mojo monday sketch over on Julee's blog if you play by sunday there is a prize up for grabs!!!

For this one i used the bronze paint dabber, alcohol inks and then the background squares are smudged with matching peeled paint distrass ink and sprayed with pearl mist using the bronze perfect pearls. it is cloudy today so i just could NOT get a pic that really showed the shimmer on this one.

The sentiment is printed out and then i used one of the newest Studio G stamps for the frame.

well i am off to tech club (pray the baby is good for her sweet dada!!)

Sketch for you to try

hi all! quick post today - the weather has been so nice we are spending lots of time outdoors which means not much is getting done indoors!! todays card is for Jen's usual saturday Sketch-For-You-to-Try post:

i turned the sketch on it's side for this one. the image is for a May challenge over on The Board (cricut message board) for the magic colored pencil technique using gamsol. We are all sent the same image and then get to see what everyone decides to do with it :) the hive is cut with the cricut, papers are Le JArdin from Stampin Up and fibers are CTMH.

now to go hide in my studio and see what fun new things i can create for you before the family morning zoo starts!!
