A birthday x 2!

Hi all!

SO it occurred to me - I HAVEN'T SHOWN YOU MY NEW GRANDBABY!  That's right I am a grandma!  Meet little Brennen!

This is my baby boy with his baby boy!  I did not cry when I saw the Brennen but I DID cry when I saw Trevor with him.  It is so amazing...

Ahhh Mi Nieto (my grandson).  He is a good baby - running the new parents ragged of course but that's his job right?

And now I DO have a project for you today!  I got another gift card holder done.  This one is for a boy.

It was quick, easy and fun to put together - oh how I love my Cricut!  Once again the light green tab slides out and the gift card is attached to that insert.  The cut for this is on the Fabulous Finds cartridge - one of the first cartridges I believe.

The party hat is from the Sweet Treats cartridge.  I glued the shadow layer flush on the front of the card and then popped the hat itself up with foam tape.

I was inspired by the following challenges:

christmas cards take 1!

hi all!

We get to venture to the dentist this morning - UGH!  so not my idea of fun!  before we head out i wanted to get my first few Christmas Cards posted.  Now that I have the Black Cat i can cut so many awesome things available on the internet - one favorite place - Lettering Delights.  There is a TON of stuff to collect over there and i am happy i can use the cut files now too! i came across a set of SVGs called Father Christmas and HAD to have them.  one day i will have a collection of old time Father Christmases - but for now i have a small collection of Father Christmas cards for ya:

i put them into Make the Cut and arranged all the pieces and sized them.  then i cut some of the shapes in other sizes to use as additional embellishments - awesome way to pull it all together easily!

i found the papers in a pad at either Michaels or Joanns - i forget which - but they were perfect for the old world rustic theme of the father christmas die cuts.

here are some close up of the die cuts - i used Viva Decor Paper Pen in red for the holly berries and white sparkle fluff for the "fur" and beards.

i am really enjoying creating with my Black Cat and will be ordering some accessories to do more stuff soon - like fabric!  and embossing!

showing some love to my pinkies....

**edited to add**
COMPLETELY forgot to add an important tidbit to this post - the bag is done for the FIRST pink cat challenge over on the Planet - paper craft planet that is. have you been?? go check it out - a superb new place for hanging out!!

for today's gift set i pulled out some pink cat studio stamps - they have been a bit neglected for awhile now which is so sad because they are simply adorable - some of my faves as i have said before. in fact a few new ones will be here soon :) so i settled on this cute little shopper and a little birdie friend. i usually color the birds all yellow so i decided in honor of christmas i would try something new and made these cute little red birds! the little circle patterned paper is also a pink cat stamp from a background set. i stamped with versamark, used distress embossing powder in peeled paint and shabby shutters and then rubbed with distress inks in tattered rose, worn lipstick and shabby shutters with the foam blending tool - an absolute must have!! accented with ruby slippers glitz stickles. all of these items are available on the website.
images are colored with copics:

next up some little gift card holders again - this time with my very first BUT UN-INKED Bella stamp! i got her as a xmas gift so it was too late to use her last year. she was super easy to color and oh so cute! both are accented with glitter pans and the boots are covered with my clear sakura glaze pen so they are shiny.
las gift card holder is a simpler cuttlebug embossed image using a piece of glossy cardstock covered in alcohol inks:

anyone else get their sign up done for CHA classes???? i never did get it to work and then after about 40 minutes it went completely off line - BUMMER i so want to get in to T!m's class!!!!
