i've been tagged! Quirks

so i have been tagged by Catherine over at scrapsetc. rules:

  • Link the person who tagged you
  • Mention the rules on your blog
  • Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
  • Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them
  • Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they have been tagged.

so six quirks - only 6 huh....geez where do i begin!

  1. when i eat i have to eat all of one thing before going on to the next AND my foods CANNOT touch
  2. If hubby loads the dishwasher i have to rearrange it the way i like it
  3. when i check the mail if it isn't anything good i leave it in the box (hubby usually gets it)
  4. i always think i am going to come back to this email or that one so i don't delete - but i never do so i now have 2698 emails i somehow thnk i am going to do something with.....
  5. i adore CSI and Monk and when there is a marathon on i can watch it all day long
  6. if some is good more is better - i can't do anything a little bit. i always have to do it times 1000!

and now to tag others, hhmmmmmmm:

i'll have to think about that one but for now here's these!!

and the winner is....plus more coasters!!

KatGreen from The Board - that's the cricut board of course!! Kat I can't email you because I can't get the cricut site to come up but i'll try again later! come on over to the website and check out the colors of perfect pearls I have available and then email me your two color choices. I'll include some of my tutorials as well!

And now on to the coasters - these things are SO much fun - i just may have to make one for my step-mom too! the three i have today are super special i think because instead of using the regular $2/bag skittles from Ms i used some of my newly arrived super gussied up skittles from Cat over at Sugar and Scraps on Etsy.

The first one uses Jen's Sketch For You To Try that she posts each Saturday - they are ALWAYS excellent:

And here's the coaster:

The technique junkies technique i used is called Rainbow Brilliance. And CHECK OUT the adorable SWIRLYpops in Oscar Gold:

The next installment is a "2-page spread" using the color challenge on Splitcoast - Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink and Chocolate Chip - I immediately went for the pictures of Pezzy helping me make chocolate "cake-cake"

BUT i cheated on the technique requirement I set for myself. I just really thought the colors would be perfect for this new technique I came across over on Debbie's blog using multiple passes thru the cuttlebug. I just LOVE the way this looks!

and OF COURSE the adorable little POLKApops in Pink Posies:

I had no pre-planning here all the parts just came together with no effort - don't you just LOVE when that happens???

well I hope ya'll have a wonderful day!! SO glad you stopped by!

Studio G Studio G Studio G....you heard it (and saw it) here first

That's right I have MORE Studio G news!!

Presenting.....
Series 15

and Series 16

I must say I am loving the alphas in BOTH sets AND the way they have done the months in 16. I also really like the way they have done the sentiments with the two different font styles.

Now for the details:

Both sets are available on my site for pre-orders now. They WILL NOT SHIP until June. I expect Series 15 to arrive the second week in June and Series 16 to arrive towards the end of June. Once again they come with those darned blocks!! So I am sorry but I will be including those as I have several boxes of them already. :P However I will only charge $1 for both - we can split the cost - HA HA HA!!

I still plan on having Series 12 available sometime soon as well so stay tuned. Unfortunately I could not get my hands on pics of those :(

I'd love to hear what you think of these two new ones so leave me a comment!!

More skittle album, a layout and FREE GOODIES

my next two installments on the skittle coaster album are ready. The first one is done using the Technostamper Monday Lunch Sketch:

and the coaster:

The technique junkies technique i used is called aged tiles and i have to say i really love this one! i will be using it more i think. the heart stamp is from the new studio g series 11. and yes, that is Pezzy letting her brother cover her from head to toe in stickers :P

the next coaster page uses the SCS sketch for this week:

and here is my coaster:

I was not sure if I could pull this one off but i managed to. The TJ technique used here is called cuttlebug Glow and this is another one i will be doing more of - it uses perfect pearls and anything using perfect pearls is a winner in my book!! (see below if you want to win some!) the stamp on either side of the pic is another from series 11 and is stamped in versamark and then dusted with perfect pearls. the background was sort of a happy accident - my craft mat had pefect pearls all over it from doing the cuttlebug portion and i wanted to use reinker to cover the coaster - quicker than paper right? so i was going to clean up the pearls but then i figured why not leave it there. so i just squirted the reinker on the mat, ran my brayer thru it and inked up my coaster. well despite there being very little pearl powder it really gives it a super sparkle! the skittles just happened to be a perfect match - these are available for purchase over at sugar and scraps. She does great work! If you don't see them contact her as she is scrambling to get everything up!

Finally, my LO for the weekly sketch challenge over at Paper Patch Crafts. first the sketch:

An now the page:

this is a pretty simple one but i really like it. these are some of my favorite pics from our trip to my moms. The circles i used for the balls are covered in clear embossing powder to give them a sort of plastic ball look. bottom border is a series 11 stamp again. and i almost got to the end without using skittles but there is ONE on here - can you find it?? leave me a comment telling me where it is and you will be entered into a drawing for 2 jars of perfect pearls - your choice of colors! The drawing will be open until midnight Saturday april 25 - if you leave your comment as anonymous be sure and leave a way for me to contact you! Again - tell me where the skittle is!!!!! (This contest inspired by my super sweet way too tired last night friend Cat over at Sugar and Scraps!!)

Be sure and tune in tomorrow as i expect to have future studio g series pics for you!!!! (darn attachment wouldn't work this morning!!)

more skittled coaster album ala sketch for you to try...

moving right along on my coaster album for my mom. Jen's Sketch for you to try is the next sketch i used - I really look forward to these each week and love when i have a chance to play - not a card but hope you like it Jen!!

first the sketch:

Now the album:

The strips of patterned paper were sprayed liberally with perfect pearls mist (doesn't show well in the pics but awesome IRL.) the two cut outs were done on my Cricut using the Walk in my garden cartridge with paper i first colored using the reinker splash technique. and then skittles of course!!

next up is the LO i did for sketch #3 over at paper patch crafts - you can find it on the message board in the games section:

i REALLY had fun with this one!

papers and stamp are all Close To My Heart. i used the aged tiles technique from the current technique jumkies newsletter but i added a step - i sponged on versamrk and then covered it with frosted crystal antiquities embossing powder - really gave it a nice look. the flowers are also WIMG cartridge and of course skittles and stickles!! i hope you like them!!

Studio G series 11 update

hi everyone! i found out today that our stamps will arrive on Monday so I will be shipping them out to you on Tuesday!

Sunday, April 20, 2008

Bright Birthday....

So have you heard about TCP Tuesdays?? The girls over at The Cat's Pajamas issue a new challenge each Tuesday and you can win to be Swanky Stamper and get a gift certificate. This week was a sketch which I really liked BUT I did not get it submitted by the Saturday night deadline - too much goin on yesterday! however I really love the way the card turned out so I thought I'd post it here anyway!

Here is the sketch:

and the card:

The stamp is from The Cat's Pajamas, ink and paper are SU. I almost did my usual and stamped in black, then colored in with prismas - but then i decided to get really colorful! each cake has teeny little half pearls sent to me by Anne over at Paper patch crafts. i spritzed the pattern paper really good with perfect pearls mist made from water, pearl and interference green PP. IRL it really shimmers but it was raining here so i did not have good light for the picture. and OF COURSE it is finished off with skittles - for those of you reading this NOT from The Board (the cricut board) - skittles are little half beads on clearance right now at Michaels and SillySkittles over on the board started a nationwide obsession with them!! so they have been dubbed skittles and you should really check out what she has in her etsy shop - Sugar and Scraps - as much as i love these little beads i CAN'T WAIT to get my order from her and get to work with those adorable little babies!!!!

ok signing off - TOO much left to do for a Sunday night!!!!!

skittled coaster album :)

what the heck is a Skittle album you ask?? i spend way to much time over on The Board (that's the cricut message board if i have any readers NOT from The Board.) well right now there is what i call a skittle frenzy going on. skittle are the little clear plastic dew drops, bubbles, baubles that can be found at Michaels on clearance right now. i have had these for awhile now. anywho my DEAR friend SillySkittles (on The Board) really got people fired up about them so we have dubbed them skittles in her honor. so i found myself telling my one year old yesterday Honey, skittles do NOT go in your mouth.....uh wait a minute........!!

anywho I am working on a coaster album for my mom and there are three requirements i have for myself. i love sketch challenges but don't need anymore cards so i am trying to make all the pages follow a current card sketch. i need to use more tech junkies techniques to make use of my newsletter so each page will use one of those AND each page must have at least one skittle!!!! (There will be more on those tomorrow so CHECK BACK!!)

here is page one:

alcohol inked transparency over the back of the cuttlebugging used for front ocver. primas are swiped across a versamark pad and dusted with perfect pearls.

Page two follows sketch 172 over on splitcoast, uses drummed pearls from technique junkies and of course several skittles:

well i have about three days worth of work ahead of me for just today so i better get busy!!!!!!

Daddies and their little girls...

My third and final project from my first design team kit of goodies from Anne over at Paper Patch Crafts:

I used the sketch challenge from Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try (geez is it already time for another one tomorrow???). I have too many cards but i LOVE to play these, especially Jen's so i have been adapting them a bit to other uses.

Check out the silver heart in the corner. That, my friends, is a coll little embellishment i had never come across before. it is by kaiser and it is made out of wood and very delicate looking. not too bulky and great for altering any way you would like. for this i wanted it to look silver metallic to match the flower charm so i just smooshed it into versamark and brushed it with pewter perfect pearls - what could be simpler?? they come in different shapes and i love the delicate scrolly look they have. go check 'em out!!

and now back to my house work - and BOY do i have house work - i may not get to play until tomorrow at Tech Club - EGADS!!!!!

Technostamper sketch - coaster album

ok i LOVE to play the sketch challenges but i have WAY too many cards and WAY to few scrapbook pages SO i have been saying i am going to try something new and here it is. Instead of making a card i am making pages for a coaster album/mini brag book for my mom for mother's day. i don't know if they "count" but there you have it!!

so my first one is the album cover and it uses MJ's sketch over at Technostamper:

I am using 4" coasters, medium weight - available over at Pezadoodles.

First I used the cuttlebug smoosh technique from technique junkies with the fantasy floral embossing folder and Soothing Sunset big & juicy rainbow pad from Ranger Ink.

i used grungeboard letters from the new minis kit (yes it is in stock!) and inked them real well. baubles for the dots on the Is. i stamped the word heart with the alphas in the new studio g series 11 set (still searching for more) using versamark and then brushed on perfect pearls powder. i also highlighted a few of the embossed hearts with a versamark pen and pearled those too. my FAVE item is the grungeboard hearts. they are harlequin patterned and i sprayed them down really well with pearl mist made from red perfect pearls, pearl perfect pearls, fired brick reinker and water in a mini mister. this gives the grungeboard color, SUPER shimmer AND doesn't hide the pattern at all!! and so super easy! you will be seeing more of that as i have lots of new grungeboard in!! all of these items (except the cuttlebug folder and sold out series 11) can be found over at Pezadoodles so come on over!!

Studio G - I've got news!!!! announcing series 16!

ok so ya'll that keep up with me and these things know that series 11-15 are exclusives for Michaels, AC Moore and Joannes (but i guess i showed them on series 11 huh!) Anywho, i just got word on series 16 - the next set that will be available to me to buy as many as i want!!!!!! so NO ONE has to go without!!!!! ok here's the full scoop:
i do not have a pic to post because the flyers are not back from the printers yet. those will be out around the first week of MAY - MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! i DO have a very rough pic for myself and can tell you what we've got - FOUR alphabet sets, New MONTHS set, NUMBERS!!, and then misc cutie-patootie designs with the sentiments done in a new style that is really sweet. several have borders that i really like too. there are 24 designs plus 4 blocks. i know i know i hate the blocks too but i have to buy them so i am making ya'll buy them too - but i'll do those for 50 cents again so we can share the pain :P so total cost will be $26 - start savin up!

as soon as i get some pics i can post to my website i'll start taking pre-orders. these stamps will start shipping to retailers on June 15th - may take a week or so for me to get them.

keep in mind series 12 is due in Ms somewhere around the middle of may as well and i am hoping my inside track comes thru again for those too. in addition i have another exciting surprise coming to my website in early May but for now that will remain a secret! STAY TUNED!!!!

i do not have any pics of series 12-15.....YET!!

enjoy life

today I have my second design team project for Paper Patch Crafts:

The basic layout is the same as the note cube - Ranger's crackle paint in Worn Lipstick around the edges. Canvas sprayed with Perfect Pearls, water and reinker in a mini mister (one of my fave things).
the top panel has flowers and dirt pile cut from Walk In My Garden cricut cartridge.
the bottom panel has studio g stamps dusted with dry perfect pearls and of course tons of Paper Patch's gorgeous collection of primas!
Stay tuned here for an exciting new studio g announcement tomorrow!!!

Squared....

I have one of my Design Team projects to show you for Paper Patch Crafts. The concept is completely scraplifted from Amy over at Pickled Paper.

Anne at paper patch sent me a collection of goodies to play with and i have three projects in all so this is the first in a series :)

i based the layout of each side on an SCS sketch challenge (since i really have enough cards I am trying to play but do something different with them - stay tuned):

Anne sent a collection of pink, green, and yellow embossed papers, prima flowers She has a GREAT collection here including the fabulous new 2008 collections), clear and lime green bubbles, a mini mister with reinker and perfect pearls powder (which you can get here), and a cool piece of canvas which i had never worked with before - among other things you will see in future projects this week!

I started with a plain wood block from Michael's and painted the edges of each side very thickly with Ranger's crackle paint in Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick. It needs to be painted on thickly so the crackles are prominent. it still dries relatively flat. I cut the canvas into squares and sprayed liberally with the pearl mist and reinker. this not only turned them green but gave them a bit of golden green shimmer as well.

All pieces are edged in SU glorious Green ink. Large Butterfly stamp is SU and colored with a clear spica glitter pen but it doesn't show well in the pic. The little girl swinging is my very first elzybells stamp (YAY!!!! more of those coming soon too!) and it is colored with prismas and gamsol. The butterfly is a studio g $1 stamp with perfect pearls. The little flowers and dirt pile are cut with Walk In My Garden cart for my cricut.

Stay tuned for more.....

FInally the top :) the clip is a pink binder clip glued to the top. Then i just covered it with primas. the prima centers are the bubbles in some and then crystal stickles with pink seed beads in others. Love this look and have TONS of these from my beading days so i may be doing this more often. I will likely use this to clip my little sketches when i am working on a sketch challenge :)
