FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!
AND TWO more weeks until school starts! pezza will be heading to kindergarten. unfortunately it is only half day kindergarten. somehow the wealthiest county in america is one of the only ones that can't afford full day kindergarten. not sure how that's possible but that's how it is! we had her IEP meeting this week and i feel really good about her start. now let's all cross our fingers she has grown up enough to behave at school and begin to learn to control herself :) of course during the meeting she was the absolute most well behaved, adorable, polite child EVER put on this earth. she really can be quite the charmer when she wants to.
i also had the joy of getting an endoscopy done this week in the endless battle to try and figure out what is wrong with me. the good news was they put me to sleep to do it unlike the last 2 i had when i was 14 and was wide awake and fighting. found an ulcer and hiatal hernia so on meds for that. did some biopsies and i will hear the results next week along with the tests they ran on the NINE vials of blood they took 8-O egads!!!! want to know the worst part? i was laying in the recovery room and i thought man, it would be so nice to be admitted to the hospital for a few days......momma needs a break!
i did get a bit artsy this week too. alot of what i have been working on has been for my online class at CMC which is technique based so i did not have a whole lot of finished stuff to show BUT i did manage to finish some recently so i can share!
today's page was inspired by someone else's class though - my friend Dion Dior is an absolute artistic master.
i am so drawn to her style and admire her so much! she has a watercolor pencil class starting up on joggles in the fall. when i saw her pictures i wanted to grab mine too!
so i did some little drawings
in some little boxes
and painted them in with my (limited) set of Inktense pencils
talk about fun! i may have to do some more of these!
now i am off to enjoy the weekend!

hot pink fun!
hi all!
CHA is right around the corner!!! that means pics are starting to surface of new goodies and some i am really excited about are the spellbinders - today the first peaks came out and WOW! in particular - the double sided embossing folders - awesome!!!
i love love love my time at cha. i love seeing all of the new stuff of course but i can see that online. what's better is the time spent with the amazing friends i have made through this silly little blog from all over the place that i only get to see once a year. and of course i love the time with my buddy suzanne - we always have fun together! in addition i get to take a few workshops - i usually take the ranger workshop but it fills fast and this is the first time i was unable to get in. so instead i am doing one with luminarte paints and two mixed media - can't wait for those!!! i will be sure to let y'all know what i learn!
meanwhile i have pulled my watercolor pencils back out after a LONG period of serious neglect and i am loving playing with them! i will be putting together a class on watercolor pencils for Color Me Creative coming in the spring - yay! this will be the third in my colored pencil class series. i recently had some derwent inktense watercolor pencils "jump" into my cart chatting me up about my 40% off coupon in my purse when i was at Michaels. i used those on this cute little LOTV card. the card uses the current sketch from SCS and i am entering it in the following challenges as well:
Creative Card: Resolutions (get my watercolor pencils out)
Crafty Creations: Use something new
Cardmaking Mommas: Use something new
Color Me Creative: Hot Pink, Black & White
and here is my card:
lilly of the valley stamps are just SO SO adorable! i used a fantastic collection of papers from my minds eye called lush - the buttons were part of the collection too.
as i mentioned my image is colored using inktense watercolor pencils. these are a bit more challenging than the regular derwent WC pencils but i do love the brightness and vibrancy of the colors. i brushed over her wings, her little ball antenna and the ball on the end of her stick with luminarte twinkling h2o shimmering watercolor paint.
what do y'all think?

gotta love embossing powder!!!!
i did these cards with the magic pattern technique in the Technique Junkies newsletter I just got - so many fabulous ideas, so little time!!! the stamps are a CTMH set that i just love AND i got to use my watercolor pencils that have just been sititng around - i didn't get very artistic with them as i have not had much success with that....i really love this look but need different stamps to make it look as good as the samples i have seen. i made these for my mom because she said she needed some "every day" cards.
in other news...i finally broke down and ordered some grungeboard! :P i fought it for awhile and then started looking at the elements set and thinking maybe....but then there are some weird shapes in there i thought i'd never have a use for, then i thought oh what the h*** i just have to play. and then don't you know i suddenly realized the piece i thought i would NEVER use will be the first one! i had some pics sititng on my table waiting to be scrapped and i came up with the perfect idea - used crackle paints to and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! but ya'll will have to wait til i get my grunge board piece before you can see it!! i am really trying to do more scrapbook layouts and use the new products, stamps and techniques i am learning on my pages because frankly i have WAY too many cards!!!
