Technostamper sketch/pink cat/paper craft planet

HOORAY for weekends!! did a bit of playing (mostly cleaning/organizing inventory but still a little playing) - the first thing i did when i got up this morning was print out all of this week's sketches that i love to play. so today's card uses MJ's lunchtime sketch from Monday - MJ ALWAYS has fabby sketches

And my card using the SUPER cute shopping Tweet from Tweet Plate 1 over at Pink Cat:

HAven't been to Pink Cat Studios? then RUN don't WALK because Melissa has some seriously cute stamps (one day i will own them all.....) I colored Tweet with copics and a bit of dark blue spica pen. The snowflake panel is rubbed with brilliance pearlescent sky blue - i use dew drops because they are easier to control. i also rubbed it along the edges of the nesties shape. i highlighted the snowflakes and main panel with diamond stickles. the snowflake is from the seasonal grungeboard set, inked with encore silver (and yes to my surprise there IS a difference between encore silver, brilliance patinum planet and brilliance starlight silver!) after inking it silver i ran it thru the snowflake Cuttlebug folder too. Then i rubbed over the raised parts with the brilliance sky clue. the dots up top are sugar pops.

Ornament swap - gotta love those alcohol inks!!

**disclaimer** I am severely ribbon challenged so these were fabulous until i got to that part but i did my best...

These are both ceramic ornaments from Michaels:

i covered the ornaments with alcohol inks and metallic mixatives. then i stamped with versamark and covered with embossing powder and melted. i LOVE the look. a tip - when i did the sides i used a qtip to get in the tiny spaces!

AHHHH after several hours on the phone the website is back up!! thank GOODNESS!! now i can work on the updated site with a little less stress!!!

how i wish i had something fun to show you today but at the moment i do not - perhaps i will be back later......

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO just realized the website is down. i am upgrading which will make it easier for ALL of us BUT i did not realize the site would be down while i did this SO i am scrambling to get things back up!

The first card today uses MJ's sketch (from last week - i know i know)

i really love how the card turned out:




i stamped with versamark and then embossed with black embossing powder. all of the red and green areas are done with a sakura glaze pen which gives a neat raised glossy look that was hard to capture in a pic. the grays are copics. i edged with brilliance ink and accented with primas and butterscotch dimensional pearls.












the next card i stamped in memento tuxedo black and then i painted it in with dimensional pearls and a paint brush. this is a super easy technique and gives wonderful shimmer! the pearls are translucent so the black lines still show thru.

and now it is back to work - and not the fun kind where i make samples for y'all but the foldin laundry and pickin up toys kind *grins*

and he does it again......

tag 1 of tim holtz's 12 tags of christmas 2008 has been posted and it is gorgeous (of course!). as i thought sure he would he has put several of his new items to use on this one - masks, seasonal grungeboard and distress tickles. i changed it up a bit by using a different mask and colors since the lamp post reminded me of outside......

over the holidays i also completed my version of last year's tag 12 using some pink cat studio stamps:
can't wait to see what he has for us tomorrow....
